In case of inclement weather

If inclement weather affects school operations, following are the ways the district will communicate information to families.

Online
The district will post school closures, delays and updates on the website at www.msd.k12.or.us and on the district Facebook page and Twitter feed.  

School Messenger
The district will use the automatic notification system, School Messenger, to contact student homes no earlier than 6 a.m. The system will send a phone dialer with a recorded message and email, if available. This system will be used for school closures and delayed starts. Click here for how information will be shared about buses on snow routes.

Mobile devices
Sign up for FlashAlert, which pushes out emergency messages within minutes of posting. Click here for details about FlashAlert.

Broadcast media
Emergency messages will be provided to Portland television and radio stations, the News-Register, and local radio stations KLYC (1260 AM) and KWIP (880 AM Spanish language).
