Hybrid option for middle and high school students
Posted on 03/22/2021

The McMinnville School District announced a hybrid option for middle and high school students that would bring students into the classroom two mornings a week. Teachers will simultaneously teach in-person students and students learning remotely using cameras in the classroom.

The plan allows students to remain in the same classes with the same teachers whether students remain in CDL or choose the in-person hybrid. This plan also allows students to remain in classes that are only taught one period or by only one teacher.

Students will continue the current four-period schedule.  In-person classes will run for two periods in the mornings and the other two periods of the day will run remotely for all students in the afternoons.

Students in hybrid will be grouped by last name, with students with names A – L attending on Monday and Thursday mornings, and students with names M – Z attending Tuesdays and Fridays.

Wednesdays will be asynchronous, or self-directed learning days, with a real-time morning advisory with teachers. The advisory will run weekly for middle school, and every other week for high school.

After Spring Break, schools will hold live Q&A sessions for parents, followed by a sign-up form to choose the hybrid option or remain in CDL.
